It is NOW AVAILABLE in it's sixth version, and includes DB2 Version 8 Considerations!  CF340 has been updated to a four-day lecture class, with paper lab exercises. The lab exercises are drawn from real-world customer installations, and illustrate performance tuning opportunities in DB2 data sharing, including z/OS tuning opportunites, CF structure sizing implications, and the effect of DB2 subsystem parameters on data sharing performance. Krohn Enterprises, Inc.'s second education offering is the DB2 for z/OS data sharing course, KE311, "DB2 UDB for z/OS  Data Sharing Implementation". In three information-packed days, PowerPoint™ visuals provide DB2 technical support personnel a thorough and up-to-date explanation of data sharing, which includes DB2 Version 8 Considerations. After an overview of a z/OS parallel sysplex and an introduction to DB2 data sharing, planning for data sharing is discussed. The implementation and mechanics of data sharing are then covered in detail. New DB2 and OS/390 commands necessary to operate data sharing are explained and illustrated. Enhancements offered in DB2 Versions 5, 6, 7, and 8 are discussed. Communications options for both SNA and TCP/IP are explained. An introduction to performance considerations concludes the course.
